Justice Abdul Sheriff of Port Loko High Court, Northern part of the country has on the 26 March, 2021 sentence to death Abdulai Salieu Kamara aka’ Loketo’.
The convict Abdulai Salieu Kamara aka’ Loketo’ was charged with a single count of MURDER contrary to law.
According to the statement of offence that Abdulai Salieu Kamara aka’ Loketo’ on the 5th day of September, 2020 at Kambia section, Magbema chiefdom, Kambia district in the Northern province of the Republic of Sierra Leone murdered Six years old Elizabeth Kamara.
Six witnesses testified as prosecution witnesses in which state counsels A. Jalloh and M.P.M Lappia Esq lead these witnesses on their testimonies.
Mohammed Korie Esq of the legal Aid Board who was representing the convict on his plea mitigation pleaded for the convict not to be sentenced to death but giving a life imprisonment because considering the fact that the convict is Sierra Leonean and a young man who has the potential to development himself and his family.
In spite of the plea, Justice Abdul Sheriff was left with no option but to pass a death sentence on the convict based of facts before him.
Port Loko has thus recorded its first murder sentence under the newly transferred judge.
