David Seppeh made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a three-count charge of unlawful possession and use of military and police uniforms without lawful authority.

He was charged with unlawful possession of military uniform contrary to Section 4 of the Personation and Uniform Act (Cap. 34) of the Laws of Sierra Leone, 1960, as repealed and replaced by Section 4 of the Personation and Uniform (Amendment) Act No. 13 of 1975; and using military and police uniforms without lawful authority contrary to Section 8(1)(a) of the Treason and State Offences Act No. 10 of 1963 (as amended).

According to the indictment, the accused, on Saturday, 13th September 2025, at the I.D.A. area in Kenema, Eastern Region of Sierra Leone, unlawfully possessed and used military uniform without lawful authority. It was further alleged that on the same date and at the same location, he also wore police uniform without lawful authority.

When the charges were read and explained to him, no plea was taken. The matter could not proceed due to the absence of the prosecution witness.

Considering the seriousness of the offences, Magistrate Jah ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to 18th November 2025 for further hearing.

Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai is prosecuting the case.
