Man Remanded For House Breaking

Alpha Jalloh aka Arata and Ibrahim Sesay appeared Magistrate Shar Kekura of Ross Road Court No.1 for allegedly conspiring with unknown persons and broke into Faluyi Olufemi’s house and stole some valuables worth thousands of leones.

 Alpha Jalloh and Ibrahim Sesay on two counts charges of conspiracy to commit felony and housebreaking and larceny contrary to laws.

The case file showed that the accused, on 19th October 2023, at Kingdom Hall Mission Compound, Taylor Street, Wellington, in Freetown, conspired with unknown persons to commit felony.

The accused also stole some valuables valued at one hundred and seventy eight thousand, four hundred and forty new leones (NLe178,440) belonging to Faluyi Olufemi.

Prosecution witness led by examination by Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP, Osman M. Bangura, Olufemi  recognised both accused and recalled 19th of October 2023.

He said on day in question, he was with his friend at Calaba Town in Freetown, when he received information that he had been robbed by unknown men.

Upon receipt of the information, he said he left for the crime scene, disclosing that when he arrived there, he discovered that the outside ceiling was damaged and his entire house was ransacked.

“I also noticed that some valuables including a laptop valued at nine hundred United States dollars among others were missing,” he explained to the court.

The witness said  he reported the matter to the nearest police.

He said he and police officers visited the crime scene and took photographs, which were produced and tendered to form part of the court’s records.

ASP Bangura sought for an adjournment being that his witness was struggling to testify by himself, application which granted.

The accused was denied bail and sent on remand.

The matter will come up today Thursday 16th November, 2023 for further hearing.
