The resident Judge, Justice M. Mbawo found Fayiah Johnson guilty on one count charge for office breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 sub section (1) one of Larceny act 1916. The accuse was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Fayiah Johnson on 3rd April, 2021 in Matotoka Town, North Eastern Province Tonkolili District broke and entered the Sierra Leone Muslim brotherhood Secondary School office in the aforesaid town and stole two (2) solar panels, inverter valued four (4) Million Leones, four (4) shovels valued 240,000 two hundred forty Thousand Leones., Union Trust Bank ID card, one Voter ID Card, one Black park container all valued or total for four thousand Five hundred and ninety New Leones.
According to report one of the students of the said school who was passing by saw one of the stolen items of his teacher with the suspect and alerted the Police who arrested him for further investigation, noting during Police search other items were also found in the suspect bag belonging to the teacher Fayiah Johnson, and was charged to court.
The accused person later pleaded guilty to the offcence and asked that the Magistrate tamper Justice with mercy.
He was sentenced to two (2) years jail term at the Mafantta Correctional centre in Magburoka. State Counsel Joseph A.K. Sesay prosecuted the matter and the legal Aid Board Sierra Leone national supervisor Lawyer M. Koray stood as defence Counsel.
