Chernoh Bah was arrested and brought to court on October 22, 2024, on charges of malicious damage, contrary to Section 52 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861.

According to the charge sheet, on April 6, 2024, in Freetown, Bah allegedly damaged a steel door and a wooden window, both properties of Bashir Jalloh.

In addition to the malicious damage charge, Bah faces a second count of larceny in a dwelling house, contrary to Section 13 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. He is accused of entering the home of Bashir Jalloh on the same date, with the intent to steal, and making off with $8,000.

During the proceedings, Morrison Vandy, a painter residing in Aberdeen, testified as a prosecution witness. He stated that he had known the accused for five years and recalled being in Guinea during the alleged incident. However, he admitted to visiting Chernoh Bah in Dalabeh between April 4 and 9, 2024, where he stayed with the accused and his sick mother.

During cross-examination by Inspector Macfoy, inconsistencies were noted in the witness’s timeline. Despite this, Vandy insisted that his statement was true.

The matter was adjourned to September 15, 2025, for further proceedings.
