Man Appears in Court for Assault & Malicious Damage to Vehicles

A man identified as Foray Sonill has been arrested and charged to court for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 and Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act 1861.

According to police reports, the accused allegedly committed the offences on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at Regent Road, Hill Station, where he is said to have assaulted Sheku Sesay, causing him actual bodily harm.

Police further alleged that on the same date and at the same location, the accused maliciously damaged several properties belonging to Marwan Malador, which were in the custody of Sheku Sesay at the time of the incident.

The damaged items reportedly include one office chair valued at Le25,000, a front windscreen of an unlicensed BMW vehicle valued at Le45,000, a front windscreen of an unlicensed Ford Jeep valued at Le35,000, and a front windscreen of an unlicensed Toyota vehicle valued at Le35,000, bringing the total value of the damaged property to Le140,000.

When the matter was mentioned in court, Corporal 12090 Bangura Z.Y, prosecuting on behalf of the State, informed the court that the factual witness was absent and requested an adjournment to enable the witness to testify.

Presiding Magistrate Magistrate Mamakoh granted the request and adjourned the matter to 23 March 2026 for further proceedings.
