50 yrs-old Augustine Bayoh has made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Keikura in Freetown on a warrant of arrest. The accused is answering to one count charge of Obtaining Money by False Pretense contrary to section 32 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet: on diverse dates unknown between the 1st day of August and the 31st day of August 2020 at Reservation, Bo town, in the Bo Judicial District in the Southern province of the Republic of Sierra Leone with intent to defraud, accused obtained the sum of (Le 10,000,000) plus two foreign passports from the complainant Clara Battu Brewah by falsely pretending that he would register a Company for her knowing same to be false.
The accused was handed over to his Lawyer G. Conteh for him to present his client on the next adjourned date. Matter has been adjourned to the 31st March 2021.
