The bail of Mohamed Lamin Kamara, a fake land vendor has been restricted by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road court number one after he fails to honor same and landed himself on a bench warrant.
The accused Mohamed Lamin Kamara was charged to court for redress after he was alleged to have conspired to defraud Complainant Marion Alfreda Sankoh.
According to the police file it was stated that on Tuesday 16th March 2021 at Grafton,with intent to defraud obtained the sum of eighty five thousand new Leones (Le 85,000) from complainant.
On count two, the police states that the accused obtained the sum of thirty million Leones from complainant Marion Alfreda Sankoh by falsely pretending that he has one and half ton land for sale at Grafton knowing same to be false.
In court three, four and five , the police also alleged that on the same date and place, the accused money by installment paid by complainant to the tune of forty five million Leones with the pretext that he has a piece of land for sale at Gratfon knowing same to be false.
In count six and seven, the police noted that the accused with intent to defraud caused complainant Marion Alfreda Sankoh to prepare a survey site plan valued five thousand new Leones for the said land which he (the accused) purported to be his, knowing same to be false.
The police file contained photographs of receipt of payment, photocopy of land sales agreement and photocopy of survey site plan bearing the names of Alfred Sankoh and Marion Alfreda Sankoh.
Led in her examination in chief by Assistant Superintendent of police Osman Mohamed Bangura, complainant Marion Alfreda Sankoh residing at No. 68 New Site Wellington recognized the accused person in the dock in respect of the matter before the court.
She said on Tuesday 16th Match 2023, the accused approached and informed her that he has a piece of land for sale at Gratfon for sale for seventy five million old Leones.
Complainant said after negotiating for the land she went with her brother in law and gave the accused part payment of thirty million Leones at his resident at Grafton.
Complainant said after sometime she went and paid the sum of forty five million Leones to the accused in the presence of one lawyer Zack and which they made a land sales agreement witness by the stakeholders of the community.
Upon reaching that point, the prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Osman Mohamed Bangura seeks for an adjourned date in order for him to get proper conference with complainant who was struggling to narrate what transferred between her and the accused.
The application of the prosecutor was granted by the Bench who however restricted the bail of the accused and adjourned the matter to the 21st of November 2023 for continuation.
