Magistrate Keikura Cautions Musician LAJ: Go and Behave Yourself …grants Le 50m Bail

One of Sierra Leone`s famous artist, Alhaji Amadu Bah “AKA LAJ made another appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura for preliminary investigation for assault on police and other related Charges.

According to his charge sheet the police alleged that on Saturday 17th July 2021 at the Criminal investigations department headquarters at Pademba road the accused assaulted police constable 12326 Joseph Lamboi whiles executing his lawful duty.

In count two it was alleged that in that same date, at the custody facility of the Criminal investigation department the accused behaved in a disorderly manner.

 In count three and four the police also alleged that the accused behaved in a Riotous manner.

L.A.J pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The witness said she was on duty on the 17th July 2021 at night when superintendent Moijueh and another entered the compound with police and private vehicles.

 She said among them are three civilians including the accused person.

She said Supt. Moijueh instructed them to issue medical request form to one of the men on board the private vehicle.

The witness was cross examined by C Campbell and he renewed his application for bail on behalf of the accused person.

Magistrate Keikura in giving his ruling said having heard the application on behalf of the accused person and in the perusing the referral from the correctional service dated the 12th August 2021 that the accused person needs further treatment he hereby granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty million Leones or one surety in like sum the surety must be resident in the western Area and should produce identity card bearing his name to be approved by the Deputy Assistant registrar (DAR)

After given his ruling magistrate Keikura admonished the accused person that he has so many people in Sierra Leone and around the world that are dancing and listening to his tracks and he has to set examples.

And for every files that are coming from CID some falls into his desk if he appears before him again he will not be afraid to remand him for more than a month.

Magistrate Keikura admonished him twice by saying “go and behaved yourself”

ASP Aminatu Daboh is prosecuting the matter which is adjourned to the 27th August 2021.
