Members of the Magburaka Police Wives Association have been called upon to promote the voters registration process and support the development stride of the government.
The women were visited by the wife of the Inspector General of Police, William Faya Sellu, Mrs Doris Sellu who has been meeting wives of police officers across the country to sensitize them about the need to participate in the voters registration process. Mrs Sellu said after her accessment visits, she will channel the concerns raised to the First Lady, Mrs. Fatima Bio so the put fingers across to settle the challenges faced by the women whose men are providing internal security. She called on the women to be patience noting that changes don’t take place over night.
She said the issues raised such as the lack of water, toilet and medical facilities are going to be looked into considerably. She expressed the need for setting up of a vocational centre to train women on vocational skills. She said her husband supports hard work therefore, she called on them to help their husbands in their line of duty.
She inspired them that they should take the front row in helping their husbands provide adequate security for the state.
Mrs Sento Conteh, Mammy Queen for the Magburaka Police Wives, expressed thanks and appreciation over the visit noting that Mrs Sellu has shown them respect by traveling all the way from Freetown to access their challenges. She mentioned medical, water as their key challenges.
The Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Magburaka Police Division, Supt Osman Kamara described her visit as a step in the right direction.
