The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Augustine Sahr Sheku has been accused of interrupting the just conducted paramount chieftaincy election in Mafindor Chiefdom Kono District.
The reported accusation was made by the aforementioned chiefdom councillors who voted in the said Paramount Chieftaincy election held in Mafindor Chiefdom headquarter town of Kamiendor.
According to the councillors who spoke to this medium the attitude of the permanent secretary on the day for the election was uncalled for as he was allegedly seen using his office convincing the voters with money in order to vote in favour of his candidate Aiah Abu Pombor who at the end of the election took the third position with a vote cast of thirty five (35). The town chief of Kamayandor Town, Kamayandor Section Mafindor Chiefdom Kono District Chief Sahr Josiah among other voters shared similar sentiments.
Responding to the said allegation the Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Trade and industry Augustine Sahr Sheku debunked the information of him using his office to dash out money to voters in order to vote for one of the candidates Aiah Abu Pombor. He however alluded to the fact that he was present during the election because he wanted the right thing to be done as his Nephew Aiah Abu Pombor was the right candidate for the said position owing to the level of his education and technical know-how in development.
Augustine Sahr Sheku further registered his dismay over the entire people of Mafindor Chiefdom especially those with voting rights as prior to the Paramount Chieftaincy election, the people faithfully promised to pay him back by voting for his Nephew because of his abounding good will gestures in the Chiefdom.
He concluded by wishing the people of Mafindor well for not keeping to their promise and the baseless allegation of him interrupting the election in Mafindor Chiefdom Kono District. Meanwhile, the said election was won by the former Sierra Leone Drivers Union Chairman Kono District Alie Musa.
