Lunsar Cycling Club, Village Bicycle Project and Hello Sierra Leone have on the 15th April, 2021 ended Tour de Lunsar which lasted for three days starting with the junior riders to the seniors.
According to the Chief organizer, Abdul Karim Kamara the last four year’s edition has been successful which has attracted many fans who love the sports, but for this year’s edition they decided to starts from Freetown to Lunsar, Makeni and back to Lunsar.
He affirmed that his love for sport has moved him to make movies for the sports to be one of the most recognized sport in Country and the Tour de Lunsar to be like the big Competition across World that will attract more people to invest in the Sports across the Country.
He noted that Sierra Leone has good road network that will help cycling to expand quickly in the Country.
The Tour de Lunsar kick started last Thursday and ended on Sunday. The following are statistics for the junior rider’s race:
The first 1st position goes to Ibrahim Kamara for the junior rider’s who was able to surpass his colleague riders and took the first position.
The second 2nd position goes to Alienate M. Swaray who was also really outstanding throughout the Tour de Lunsar and he was able to maintain his second position.
The third was secured by Mohamed Kutub Bangura.
For the female category that was held on Thursday though it was tough among the female cyclists. Isata Sama Mondeh took the 1st Position after an impressive performance in the Tour de Lunsar and the second 2nd position went to Deborah Fatima Conteh both were so exceptional and were able to grab the prestigious positions, and the third position went to Elizabeth Mansaray.
On Friday of Tour de Lunsar the first position was grabbed by Abu Sheik Mansaray he was from the Lunsar Cycling Team and the second 2nd spot went to Joseph Kelley Mansaray (C2c), while third position went to Osman T Kalokoh from the Lunsar Cycling team.
Whereas in the sprints race the first 1st position went to Abu Sheik Sesay from the Lunsar Cycling team, the second spot was grabbed by Osman T. Kalokoh from the Lunsar Cycling team and third positions went to Sorie Koroma a Cyclist from Lunsar.
Also in the stage 1 winners:
The first 1stposition went Osman T. Kalokoh from Lunsar the 2nd position goes to Sorie Koroma from Lunsar and the 3rd position went Abu Sheik Sesay from Lunsar.
Stage one General team classification winners:
1st position went to the Lunsar Cycling Team A and 2nd position again went to Lunsar Team B while the 3rd position went to C2v Cycling team and the 4th position went to Crank Cycling Team.
Stage 2 Climb winners are as follows
1st position went to Ibrahim Jalloh from Lunsar Cycling Team A, 2nd position went to Abu Sheik Sesay from Lunsar Cycling Team, the 3rd position went Mustapha Koroma.
Stage 2 sprints Winners 1st position went to Ibrahim Jalloh from Lunsar Cycling Team A , 2nd position went to Makailu Manlam Conteh from Lunsar.
