LRMG Commissions Construction Of  Modern Clock Tower In Tonkoklili District (Magburaka)

In what has been described as an unprecedented developmental leap, Leone Rock Metal Group, has handed over building materials to Tonkoklili District Stakeholders in an effort to heed to H.E President, Julius Maada Bio’s developmental strides in facilitating the construction of a New Modern Clock Tower in the Tonkolili District Head Quarter town of Magburaka Northern Province in Sierra Leone.

The presentation was made at a special ceremony held on Wednesday 10th May, 2023 at the Magburuka District Council, Tonkolili District and attracted a host of attendees including; The Manager Community Affairs Department; Mr Morris Manjianzhu, Deputy Manager Community Affairs Department LRMG; Mr Ansu Momoh, Resident Minister North- East Region; Mr Abu Abu Koroma, 19 Paramount Chiefs in Tonkolili District, Hon. Member of Parliament Constituency 050; Hassan Sesay, LUC Magburuka; Superintendent Ibrahim Sorie Sesay, Youth Representative, and  LRMG Staff among many others.

LRMG ineffaceable is a leading Mining company in implementing its corporate social responsibility across Sierra Leone. The company’s commitments to build a modern clock tower is an indication of the significance and value it places on township and its residents as it serves as the administrative headquarter of its operational district.

Speaking during the Presentation, the Deputy Manager Community Affairs; Mr Ansu Momoh, outlined the purpose and intent of the ceremony stating that they were delighted to be in Magburuka to present the building materials and to commit resources to the construction of the new modernise clock tower. He added, the presentation was to formally hand over building materials, to primarily assess the structure and set the timeline with regards the stipulated completion date which he said would span for one month. He then reaffirmed residents of LRMG’s commitments to compliment Government’s effort in ensuring they revive developmental drive and beautify Tonkolili District.

“This project cost of building a modern clock tower summed up to has been taken up at a cost of Four Hundred and Forty-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy Leones (NLE447,570). Stakeholders should ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe and without compromising the quality. They should also ensure that the roadside vendors and other public road users would not be affected due to the construction work,” Mr. Ansu Concluded.

Resident Minister North -East Region Abu Abu Koroma showered praises on LRMG for taking the sole responsibility to construct the Magburaka Modern clock tower, noting that this move of straight forwardness and display of attention by the company to the people of Tonkolili is truly unmatched. The Minister told dignitaries and the people of the Tonkolili District at the handing over ceremony that if not for LRMG’s intervention, after several requests made to various Institutions this initiative would not have been accomplished

Speaking on behalf of the Paramount Chiefs; PC Kholifa Rowalla Chiefdom; Alhaji Masakama Kanamanka 111 welcomed the initiative, noting that the project is timely. He furthered that the exemplary community relations the company has demonstrates, to the people of Tonkolili is first of its kind and rare to see such developmental drive.

“We admire LRMG development strides and the cooperation with the people of Tonkolili District. Indeed, LRMG is a force to reckon with” he concluded.

The handing over ceremony was climaxed with the official turning of the Sod by the Manager Community Affairs LRMG, Deputy Manager Community Affairs LRMG, Staff, Paramount chiefs, MP’s and other dignitaries present.

This project is a testament to modern design and a move by LRMG in a positive direction which would be embodied in this beautiful structure when completed.
