The Living Health Education Foundation (LHEF) in Kono District, has donated a consignment of educational and health packages to different disability associations and individuals in Kono district in a ceremony held to officially launch the Living Health Education Foundation in Kono District.
In their opening remarks Messers Michael Senessie and Peter Munda Stevens who co-chaired the ceremony foremost welcomed all present and encouraged them to take the foundation as their baby. The described the initiative as a blessing that has the capacity to deliver the good in the district.
When talking to our correspondent on behalf of the founder with regards the aims and objectives of the Living Health Education Foundation Madam Fatmata Mansaray maintained that their aims and objectives are to support persons living with disabilities; the Ministries of Health and Sanitation and Education among other relevant sectors in the district and the country as a whole.
Kumba Fovour Amara is the District Coordinator for Living Health Education Foundation Kono Branch. In her key note address, she thanked all and sundry especially parents for supporting and promoting girls and women’s education and empowerment in the district. She said girls and women have suffered a lot from their counterparts- men, especially during and after the eleven (11) years rebel war in the country.
Favour Amara further pleaded with all stakeholders in the district to put hands on deck to support the dreams of the founder of the foundation. She implored beneficiaries of the foundation to make judicious use of the packages received.
