Sierra Leone Senior National team Leone Stars has lost to the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau by (2-1) their last and final match in the Africa Cup Nations Qualifiers.
The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone started the match with pace play and took the lead in the first 5th minutes of play in the first half as Amaduo Bakayako scored from corner kick headed home to give the visitors the lead.
The Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau bounce back from a goal down to get their equalizing goal which came from a counter play and F.D.L Gomes scored in the (35) minutes of play as he fire the ball passed Mohamed N Kamara the Sierra Leone goalkeeper to settle 1-1 all in the first half of play.
After the recess, both teams return to the field with high determine faces from the home team and away team, but the host get their second goal as from Franculino Dju who scored from compose build up in the 18 yard box; fired the ball passed the goalkeeper.
Guinea Bissau qualified as runners up to Nigeria with 13 points as the Super Eagles top the group with 15 points after six matches played by both teams.
The Group A clash between Sierra Leone Guinea Bissau marks the last match in the campaign as the Leone Stars from Sierra Leone failed to qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The more Sierra Leoneans look through the Leone Stars lens, the less they see.
Bakayako with the goal to give Leone Stars the early lead, but goals on either side of half time from Gomes and Dju subjected John Keister’s boys to another brutal and disgraceful defeat.
Hence, the Sierra Leone Football Association approved for 21 players and 24 officials as delegate to Guinea Bissau and the team was led by the New Minister of Sport and another football personalities.
