Sierra Leone Senior side Leone Stars has disgracefully lost their second international friendly game to DR. Congo in a FIFA International sanctioned match in Rabat Morocco.
The match started with open play between the two nations as both were looking for the opening goal match, but the DR. Congo were much more offensive in the counterpart half which causes more pressure on Leone Stars.
Leone Stars went into the match after they were trashed four nil by the Bafana Banafa of South Africa last Saturday in Johannesburg and immediately after the match they travelled to Morocco for the encounter against the Leopard of DR. Congo were they were humiliated by 3: 0.
The Leonard of DR. Congo scored three goals in five minutes of play, their first goal was scored in the 70th minute in the second half and three minutes later they get their second goal through poor play from the Leone Stars defense, and with a minute later Leone Stars conceived the third goal which wraps-up the win for the Leopard of DR. Congo in the third meeting against Sierra Leone in all competitions.
Before Leone Stars could departs for the International friendlies the head coach John Edward Keister sarcastically told football fans back home that football is not only about wining, winning rather it is about identifying players ahead of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations were the team will play a double-header against Sao Tome Principle.
After eight friendlies match Coach John Keister has only managed to win two matches from January to date and has only won two as he defeated the Gambia in Morocco and won against Congo Brazzaville in Turkey.
However, a lot of factors were responsible for the Leone Stars’ heavy defeats in two Friendlies matches in the International FIFA friendly: late arrival of the team due to long travel, poor technical selections of the players and some of the players were not up to the task for the occasion.
Football pundits described both defeat as disgraceful and embarrassing to the highest degree in terms of comparing Leone Stars team that recently partook in the just concluded 2022 AFCON in Cameroun whereas South Africa and DR Congo could not make it. Therefore, in terms of form fans are expecting the Sierra Leone team to of recent forms, sharp and experience to match up with their counterpart.
