Sierra Leone National Home base side Kick-off CHAN qualifiers win a (2-0) win over their Cape Verdean Counterparts at the Marrakech Stadium on 24th July 2022.
Alie Conteh the informed Striker from Goderich Football club scored two brilliant goals to ensure his take in charge of the first leg in the CHAN qualifiers, the first goal came in the (15) minutes of play through a solo goal he put it at the back of the net to give Leone Stars the lead in the first half as the Stars hold on to the second half of play.
After the recess, both teams returned to the pitch again for the second half Sierra Leone looked more aggressive in the second half than in the first as they were more composed pace played from the wings, and had an attack-minded side than the second goal of the match came in the (65) minutes through a good displace from the midfielders as the informed striker Alie Conteh covert the ball back of the net to give Sierra Leone two goals advantage in the first leg of the Preliminary rounds of the qualifiers.
While talking to the media after the match Alie Conteh said this is the opportunity he have been waiting for to have scored the two goals for the nation, and is looking for more chances to help the team qualify for the tournament.

“We are pleased as a technical team with the results, but there are more tasks ahead and we have to finish the job on Wednesday and brace up for the next round of the qualifiers.”
“We do not think about the Preliminary now but the next rounds of the qualifiers are more key to us; as a team we want to qualify as a unit and set up a new record in the history of Sierra Leone in this competition as they never crossed the Preliminary rounds of the Qualifiers,” he said.
The Winner on aggregate between the two sides will face the 2020 CHAN runners-up Mali in the second round, which is the final stage of qualifying later this year.
Sierra Leone’s national Home base side squares off on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 in the return at the same venue the Marrakech Stadium.
