Leone Rock Metal Group has on 18th January 2023 present a cash cheque of 30,000.00 Leones to the Female Premier League board as support ahead of the second rounds of the Female Premier League in the Country.
The Presentation of the Money was done at the Sierra Leone Football Association Secretariat in Kingdom.
Asma James the Chairperson of the Female Premier League Board said as a board they are happy to receive such funds from the Leone Rock Metal group as it came at the right time when the board is bracing up to get the second half of the Female Premier League in the Country.
Noting that there are lots of things that need to be put in place to get the second half of the Female Premier League, but with this, they can now use the said funds with what they have already received to kick start the second half of the Female League this coming weekend as they are targeting the end of March to climax the league.
The head of Cooperate Affairs at the Leone Rock Metal group said this is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to help when the need arises and they are always ready to support Football in Sierra Leone, noting that as a Company they continue to play its critical role to ensuring that female Premier League get good climax being the maiden edition in the Country.
In another development After twenty-six days of recess including the opening and closure of the January transfer window, the second round of the 2022/23 Women’s Premier League season is set to resume this weekend on Saturday, 21st January 2023.
The Saturday fixtures feature two matches FC Kallon welcoming Mogbwemo Queens from Rutile the second-placed side and also the only team that has yet to taste a defeat in the league, while Koya Queens host the league leader Kahunla Queens at Mile 38 field.
Sierra Leone Police sit fifth on the log and will kick off the second leg campaign at home against Patricia Umu FC at the Police field, Mena Queens FC from Bombali will travel to the country’s capital to face Correctional Service FC at Attouga mini stadium, VEM Buck FC host Albitaya Queens in Lungi, and Ram Kay FC lock horns with Malema Queens at the Bo Coronation field all four matches line up for Sunday.
However, six teams will miss some of their key players after twenty of them have departed for national duty to represent Sierra Queens in the WAFU Zone A Women’s tournament hosted in Cape Verde that will kick start on Friday, while the second round of the league is scheduled to climax on the 3rd March 2022.
