In a bid to ensure there is adequate provision of water in various Police Barracks across the country, the President of the Sierra Leone Police Wives Association, Mrs Matilda Doris Sellu and her Executive, continue to solicit support from well meaning organizations to achieve her dream.
A testament of such, is the Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG), as part of its corporate social responsibility, supported the Police Wives Association in line with its National Water Project.
The donation which took place on Thursday 9th March 2023, at the Police Wives Association Headquarters Kingtom, comprised of 40 bags of cement, two 10,000 liters tanks and four cartoons of tiles.
Presenting the donated items, the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Mr. Ibrahim B. Koroma gave an overview on the requirements that qualifies LMRG to adhere to its social responsibilities, of which the Police Wives Association meets the criteria.
Mrs. Zainab Williams, the Police Wives Association ‘s Treasurer, who represented the President of the Police Wives Association, briefed the donor on the rationale that led to prioritizing the water project in Police Barracks across the country. She furthered that six Water Boreholes have been constructed, of which four have been commissioned with the support of other donor partners. The four include, Kissy Police Barracks; Mayeami Police Barracks; Jui Barracks and Magburaka Police Barracks. On behalf of the President of the Police Wives Association and her Executive, she thanked LMRG for their timely gesture.
