Hawa Samba an Estate agent made her first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between 1st to 8th February 2022 in Freetown Obtained the sum of eighteen thousand Leones(18,000,00) From Joseph Abiola Mabolaji with the pretext of renting him an apartment for two years knowing same to be false.

The charge was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.

Counsel representing the complainant A.R Gbla told the bench that he is ready to lead his witness

The defence counsel A.Kondowa applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that she is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that she has a fixed abode, she will not jumped bail, she is employed at the home of Parliament she has reliable and credible sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance.

 He made his application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

Meanwhile Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of ten million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area.

 Sureties to produce valid identity card one surety to be employed bail to be approved by the Bench.

Matter adjourned to the 14th November 2022 for further hearing.
