A labourer, Julius Aruna, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown on two charges relating to alleged office breaking and larceny.
The accused is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law, and office breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Sunday, 28 December 2025, at the Parliament Building in the Western Area of Freetown, Julius Aruna allegedly conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony, namely office breaking and larceny.
The second count further alleges that on the same date and at the same location, the accused, with intent to steal, broke and entered the office of the Chief Whip, Mr. Dickson Rogers, and stole one iPhone 17 Pro Max and other assorted items valued at Fifty-Six Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Leones (NLe 56,790). The stolen items were the property of Mr. Dickson Rogers.
During the court proceedings, the prosecutor, CSP T. B. Zizer Esq., informed the court that the defendant had been served with all relevant legal documents.
Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon refused bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the offences charged and adjourned the matter until 29 January 2026 for further hearing.
