20yrs-old Moses Conteh a laborer made his first appearance before magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No 1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit loitering with intent contrary to section 8 of the public order Act No. 45 of 1965.
According to the particulars of the offence the accused person on the 27th August 2022, at the state house, Avenue in the western area in Freetown was found loitering with intent.
The prosecutor informed the bench that fact as a charge there is no available record of the accused person who was found loitering with intent at State Avenue and the accused person admitted to the police that he was found loitering on his caution statement of the accused. The prosecutor produced and tendered both the caution and charge statement of the accused person it was tender as exhibits A1__5 and B1_2.
The accused person pleaded for mercy.
However, Magistrate Ngegba said the accused person had pleaded guilty and didn’t waste the court time he sentenced the accused to three months imprisonment to the male correctional centre in Freetown, while Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy prosecuted the matter.
