Some residents of Koidu City have described the position of the petroleum regulatory agency monitoring officer as a white elephant in Kono District.

The said residents made the statement amid the closure of filling stations by fuel dealers thereby creating artificial scarcity of fuel without the Kono District petroleum regulatory agency monitoring Officer Babady Kamara performing his constitutional duty.

They maintained that Babady Kamara for far too long has allegedly    neglected his duty in the district because fuel dealers have bought him over with some quantum of Money and fuel supplies on monthly basis and as a result his office or position is more or less a white elephant in the District.

Meanwhile, efforts by our correspondent  to contact Mr. Kamara on  the said allegations proved  futile as he faithfully promised to react to the said allegation  in an interview with our correspondent but time for him to be interviewed,  he  boycotted it  by ignoring calls from our correspondent  who he was talking  to  with regards the allegations levied on him.

Local gossip have said that the attitude of Babady Kamara cannot be unconnected with him serving as a saboteur to the political party he is claiming to belong because the SLPP led government is against the closure of filling stations especially when there is fuel.

Reports further maintained that Mr. Kamara who is more or less very busy and active in other activities rather than his constitutional duty should be transferred  should the government wants to make gains in the on-going blame game owing to the present fuel saga in Kono District and the  Country as a whole .
