The Kono District Human Rights committee chairman Sahr Isaiah Suluku and at least two of his biological brothers are reported to be behind bars at the Sefadu Male correctional centre for family land dispute.
According to sources from the Suluku family, the Kono District Human Rights Committee Chairman and his brothers allegedly sold a land with three bedrooms building situated at the boundary between Gbense and Tankoro Chiefdoms in Koidu City for about one hundred Million Leone (Le 100,000,000) a property which their late father left for their inheritance and never wanted any of his family members or children to sell.
The family sources maintained that the three brothers are behind bars as a result of the conflict hinging on the said land which has warranted them to refund the aforementioned money for the sold land and three bedrooms building but to no avail.
The three brothers were expected to make their first appearance at the sefadu magistrate court on Tuesday 12th October,2021 for the said matter. It could be recalled that just after the sale of the reported land and house at council road in Koidu City, a public notice from the Suluku family was on both the social and traditional media condemning the sale of the aforesaid properties. Meanwhile the said public notice reads
“This is to inform the general public that the boundary between Gbense and Tankoro Chiefdoms by Kaisambo Koidu City in Kono District is a bonafied property of the late Pa Tamba Daniel Suluku inherited from their late father of blessed memory.
However, it has come to the notice of the rest of the family that few members of the late Pa Suluku have reportedly connived with a man who says he is a chief residing at upper Vaama to sell the said land, and that the building thereon unknowingly to the rest of the family members of the late man, As the said property is not for sale to any individuals, group of persons or institutions. This is in accordance with the last word of the late father that none of his children or family members should sell any of his property but should remain for the use of the family.
As an eldest child of the family and presently living in the house on behalf of the family at home and abroad stands by the last word of our late father. Anyone who is planning to connive to sell or have sold the said land will be doing it at his/her own determent. As we are giving you the self-acclaimed area Chief at upper vaama and the connived family members one week if not that your names and working places will be announced on all of the radio stations in the District and be aware that this information has reached various authorities concerned you have been warned”. The public notice concluded.
