The municipality of Koidu in Kono District has of yesterday clocked consecutive three weeks without electricity, while some residents of the aforementioned city have described the city as hell on earth because of the complete outage of electricity especially at night hours.

Some of the residents of Koidu City maintained that EDSA and ELSG are in the habit of supplying and taking away electricity at will without informing the people especially costumers thereby causing unnecessary economic or financial implications on the people as most family members do use electricity to earn their living through the sales of cold water and other different drinks.

They said the financial implications do not only limit to the absent or outage of electricity which prevents people from the sales of cold water and other drinks but the damages cause on their electrical appliances owing to the nature of how electricity goes off and comes on intermittently.

“The city of Koidu is like hell on earth these days because of its darkest nature at night hours especially when we are forced by the ongoing curfew which has been revised to 12am to 6am daily” according to residents of Koidu.

Reliable information reaching this medium states that the usual electricity outage in the city of Koidu without any information from EDSA and  ELSG officials cannot be unconnected with inefficiency of certain workers coupled with the allegation that some workers of the aforementioned institutions do aid and albeit the theft of electricity through illegal connections for their own benefits at the detriment of the said institutions and the general people that use electricity in the municipality of Koidu.

Haven failed to inform the general public about what is responsible for the present electricity outage in Koidu City for at least three consecutive weeks, rumors making the rounds states that fire caught on the substandard overhead wires which workers of either EDSA or ELSG decided to use after they were strictly advised by some Ivorians who came to fix up the ELGTC light in Koidu City to use the prescribed wires that were going to stand the test of time but to no avail.

This medium will bring you more as the issues unfolds…
