Pupils of Kilan Koulu Mission School in Mabrown, Four Mile commemorated the Day of the African Child in a grand style. They were entertained with drama, reading, dancing and series of performances by artists of the Sierra Leone Reggae Movement.

Addressing the congregation, Pastor Sheku Kamara of the Omega International Mission called on the pupils and members of the Mabrown community to embrace education so the communities will develop rapidly from its impoverished status.

Vice Chairman of the Sierra Leone Reggae Movement, Daddi Cool encouraged the pupils to listen and go by the instructions of their teachers.

 He said as children they will have to handle the state of affairs of the country.

Issato Madi aka Jahman said Africans need to reflect on their history, so it does not repeat itself. He noted as Rastas, they joined the commemoration to impact the message of peace and love to the children. 

Coordinator of Ripsta Culture Foundation, Madam Slyvia Johnson commended the founder of the school, Sorie Obai Kamara for considering the less privileged as well as orphans of Ebola in the community.

She said the foundation spent millions to entertain the pupils as well as members of the community. She encouraged parents to concentrate on the education of their children.

The programme was graced by the Deputy Clerk of Parliament Cyril King whose presence was inspiring to the children.
