Mr. Keifala Philip Koroma, who is well-known as a development expert due to his extensive experience working with reputable Non-Governmental Organisations, joined families and friends in Limba Village, Bagbo Chiefdom, Bo District on Saturday, September 25, 2022, to register for the ongoing National Electoral Commission (NEC) registration process.
Mr. Keifala Koroma registered along with his older brother, Honourable Victor Bockarie Foh, former Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The former Vice President formally introduced Mr. Keifala Koroma to the villagers and declared his unwavering support for Mr. Koroma as his candidate for the SLPP Bo District Chairman symbol for the upcoming elections.
Mr. Keifala Koroma is described by the Honorable Victor Bockarie Foh as being sufficiently educated, having a wide range of professional experience, being humble, honest, and mature, and being a person whose ability to deliver he has the utmost confidence.
Speaking about the significance of the registration process, Mr. Keifala Koroma says that it will give citizens a voice in decision-making, allowing them to select the leader they want, and it will affirm their right to vote in the coming elections.
The candidate for the Bo District Chairman urged his compatriots to register and vote for President Julius Maada Bio in the 2023 elections, adding that the incumbent needed to be reelected to continue the implementation of his Free Quality Education programme.
To get the elderly and other physically challenged people to the various registration centres in the Chiefdom, Mr. Koroma provided a vehicle.
Keifala Koroma – KP (commonly known) is the most qualified, experienced, and connected candidate.
With a M.Sc. degree in Rural Development, Keifala understands the local governance and decentralization issues facing the district.
He can provide leadership to tackle the problems and provide solutions needed to take the council to the level of sustainability.
KP has a proven track record of management experience. For the past 25 years, he has contributed to lots of impact in the district and country as a whole, while serving in UNDP, WFP, Catholic Mission, Christian Aid, War Child, World Vision, PPA-SL, etc.
His global network with USAID, EU, DFID and other donor partners will be a blessing to bring funding, partnerships and investments to develop the district.
He is well known in community development circles around the country because he has worked with hundreds of CSOs, CBOs, youth groups, farmer organizations, women groups, community leaders and others.
He demonstrated financial prudence when he performed as Budget Controller in War Child Holland and Planned Parenthood Association of Sierra Leone.
He has attended many high-profile international conferences in USA, Holland, United Kingdom, Ghana, and other countries, speaking on local governance, or rural development issues.
KP was Secretary-General of the FBC Students’ Union during the turbulent AFRC regime.
