Kallie Bangura has dismissed fears of a groin injury after playing 65 minutes in Sierra Leone-Sydney’s 1-0 win over Zimbabwe on Saturday.
The Sierra Leone-Sydney midfielder, who made Sierra Leone’s assist, was seen limping after a tough blow to his left leg. He couldn’t manage to finish the game. The coach and fans were left sweating over his fitness for Saturday’s clash against Togo.
When asked for an update from this press, Kallie quickly stressed that supporters should not be concerned.
“It’s okay,” he told the media. It’s just a little pain. I will be available for Saturday’s selection. ” He added, “So far, my body is fine, and the groin is just a little pain, but with more rest, I will know if I’m 100% okay when I get back to training on Tuesday. I think it was a good idea I came off early so it won’t get worse.”
