The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health and Sanitation has carried out the polio vaccination exercise in Kailahun District in order to prevent children within the age of Zero to five (0-5) years from contracting communicable diseases in the district and the county as a whole.
John Kellie is the district coordinator Focus 1000 in Kailahun District.
He explained that they are in partnership with UNICEF and they are accountable for any vaccine the government will send to the aforesaid district.
He further explained that Focus 1000 has eighty-sixed (86) facilities as well as eighty-six (86) vaccine accountability monitors who at the same time helped the nurses to carry out the vaccination exercise.
John Kellie assured all parents in Kailahun district that they should not be scared of anything as the vaccine is there to protect their children from the polio disease and other diseases.
He therefore thanked all parents for allowing their children to take the vaccine and any other polio vaccine the government will send in future as it is for the betterment of their children.
