Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens JA has sentenced 24 year old Chernor Jalloh amd 28 years old Yomie Strasser King to 80 years imprisonment after they were found guilty of robbery with aggravation.
Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens JA handed down the sentence after the accused persons were found guilty on a three counts indictment of Conspiracy, Robbery with Aggravation, and causing grievous bodily harm.
According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that the convict on diverse dates between the 23rd May 2022 and 27th May 2022, at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery with aggravation.
It was alleged that the accused person being armed with black knives robbed Bintu Turay of barbing machine, puma slippers, wedding ring and other items with a total value of Eleven Million Leones being properties of Bintu Turay.
Justice Alhji Momoh Jah Stevens said the accused persons pleaded guilty to the offence when the charges were read to them hereby not wasting the courts time.
Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens JA in his summoning said the prosecution has proven it’s case beyond all reasonable doubts against the accused person.
“I hereby hold the accused person guilty as charged of three counts charges of Conspiracy, Robbery with Aggravation, and causing grievous bodily harm hereby sentencing both accused persons to 40 years imprisonment each,” he ordered.
