Popular Sierra Leonean Rapper, Alhaji Aamadou Bah better known as Boss La who is currently standing trial at the high court of Sierra Leone on a four-count indictment of Robbery with violence and Robbery today 10 February 2023 made another appearance before Justice Adrian Fisher at the High court no.1 in Freetown.
State Prosecutor Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq in closing its case made an application for additional witness to which Justice Adrian Fisher granted the said application.
Prosecution Witness (PW3) Dr Margaret Gandi A Medical doctor attached at the Lumley Government Hospital took the witness stands.
She said she has been working at the hospital for 5years now and has handled referral cases for 5 years now.
According to her she recalled that on the 13th June 2022, she was on duty when a referral case from the CID was sent to her and she examined and treated a certain patient named Musa Mansaray.
The witness said a patient named Musa came in and explained of how he was attacked, robbed and physically assaulted by a group of people including the accused person Alhaji Amadu Bah aka (LAJ), Ishmail Summa, Baba Dumbuya and others.
She continued that upon her physical examination of the patient a visible swelling on the left lower eyelid, and swelling on the forehead and that the patient complained of pains on the head.
She went on to say that she administered treatment to the patient to relieve him of the pains, stamped and signed his medical form and sent him back to the police station.
Medical report of the patient identified by the witness, tendered and marked as Exhibit F.
Cross examination by lead defense counsel Pa Momoh questioned the witness on her examination with the patient, she replied that she endorsed what the patient told her.She further mentioned that she knows the accused but can’t remember his face.
He also inquired of her reasons for not mentioning the accused name in her report, he replied that she did not because his name was already mentioned in the police report, stating further that all the names mentioned are the names the patient told her of and did not specifically state the accused name but rather said a group of people.
She also said what the police told her and what the patient explained was what she endorsed, documenting it anatomically.
Prosecution closed it’s case, State Prosecutor Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq led in three witness in proving its case against the accused person Alhaji Amadu Bah aka LAJ,he stated further that the accused was charged on a four count indictment of Robbery with violence and Robbery.
He stated that a Preliminary Investigation was conducted at the Magistrate Court and was committed to the High Court for which a committal warrant was tendered in court and marked as Exhibit P1&2, Defense Counsel made no objection and made a no case submission.
Accused however was put to an election process, his legal team made a no case submission.
Judge ordered both counsels to submit their closing address on the 17th February 2023 and Judgement will be delivered on the 24th February 2023.
Defense counsel made an application for bail, to which Justice Adrian Fisher advised counsel that the accused has been in custody for 7-8pm months now, that per chance the accused is granted the bail, his time spent at the Pademba road prison would not be considered if he is convicted.
The Matter was adjourned to the 24th February 2023 for final ruling.
