Veteran politician who gave the All People’s Congress party (APC) over 30% votes in the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) stronghold in Kailahun District in 2018, has described the Main Opposition Party as one that is still not organized to challenge President Bio in the June 2023 polls.
Hon Rabin Fallay predicted that there would be no run off for President Bio in June 34 2023. He justified his no run-off prophecy due to the very fact that President Bio has undoubtedly implemented over seventy percent of his New Direction manifesto when the people of Sierra Leone entrusted him with power in 2018. He cited the electrification of rural communities across the country, roads and infrastructure as major achievements under President Bio Administration. He added that series of bridge construction projects that were commenced during the APC era have been completed under the SLPP.
“There have been enormous progress in freedom of expression, gender empowerment and a lot more”, he pointed out.
He dubbed the APC as a failed opposition party which has not played its role well as the Main Opposition Political Party. He also expressed that the APC lacks the gumption to engage in constructive criticism of the New Direction Government.
Hon. Fallay boasted that he was one of the strategists that paved the way for the re – election of former President Koroma in 2012. He reiterated that the party currently lacks the structure to attain victory with no flag bearer or programme in place to garner support.
It could be recalled that Fallay had been a Member of Parliament under the SLPP representing Constituency 007 in Kailahun District. He served as Chairman of the Youths Mobilization Committee. He joined the APC where he served as National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the party. He parted ways with the APC after motherly invectives were showered on him at the party headquarters.
