High court judge justice Ivan Ansumana Sesay has said he will not hesitate to make a formal complain to the first lady Madam Fatima Bio that it is the state counsels that are bent on delaying the sexual offenses matter.
Justice Ivan Ansumana Sesay made the above outburst when he notices that one of the doctors who supposed to tender the medical finding on the matter between Alpha Bangura and the state, Dr. Olabisi Jones was absent in court.
The accused Alpha Bangura is before the court for proper trial on one count charge of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the sexual offenses Act 2012.
It was alleged on the charge sheet that on the 9th of August 2019, in Freetown the accused sexually penetrated a child under the age of eighteen years.
The matter which was supposed to be heard a day earlier faced another setback shortly after state counsel J.S Tucker informed the bench that his witness was absent.
Responding to state counsel J.S Tucker, Justice Ivan Ansumana Sesay said the absent of prosecution witnesses is a great violation of the human right if the state fail to produce their witness on the next adjourned date he will not only discharge the accused but will send word to the first lady Madam Fatima Bio that the state counsels are delaying sexual offenses matters in court. Matter has been adjourned to the 10th June 2021.
