ISATU SESAY BOOSTS OVER 400 SCHOOL PUPILS WITH LEARNING MATERIALS

Isatu Sesay, a Sierra Leonean based in Holland has donated school materials to over 400 school going Pupils especially the poor and the less privileged of St Andrew’s RC Primary School and bales of used clothes to the entire Maron Village in Safroko Chiefdom, Kareneh District.

The donation is part of Madam Sesay’s efforts to complement the government Free Quality Education (FQE) scheme. The donated package includes: books, bags and other learning materials.

Presenting the donated Materials, Madam Isatu Sesay said that the donation is symbolic and it is part of her commitment to promote early childhood education in Sierra Leone. She reiterated that she is devoted to support vulnerable school children, adding that she is concerned to provide and help promote education in her community and across the country. “I felt piety when I saw the deplorable and poor condition our children and the school does not have conducive learning environment. If the learning environmental of our children is not friendly, there will be no positive learning outcome, I felt so bad to see the school roof leaks, teachers condition is poor, no furniture, and even the office of the Head Teacher is deplorable. I believe in education and I assured you that I will continue to invest in our children’s education. I am ready to support you more if you continue to work hard and take your academic work seriously”, she said.

She went on to say that as a philanthropist, she believes in helping the poor. She admonished the pupils to take their academic work very seriously.

The Head teacher of the School, Mr. Brima Kamara encouraged the school going pupils to take their academic work seriously and become useful citizens. He thanked Madam Isatu Sesay for the supports towards the less privileged that are finding it extremely difficult to earn their educational materials.

Lieutenant General Sullay Sesay of the Sierra Leone Armed Force thanked her sister, Madam Isatu Sesay for given a payback to her home town. He said that this is not the first time their family is giving a support to the Maron Village. He said recently their family has also donated solar lights, providing seeds for local farmers, rehabilitate the village Mosque to name but a few.

He appreciated the school Administration for their patience and commitment to give education to their children.

One of the beneficiaries, a class four pupils thanked Madam Sesay for the educational supports. She disclosed that the bags and the other donated materials will be of great help to her and her friends. She said that she wants to become a medical doctor to cure the sick and give support to the poor.

The Local Unit Commander attached at the Ross Road Police Division, Dennis Tailor thanked Madam Isatu and her Holland partners for the kind of gesture.
