The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. William Fayia Sellu, continues to champion transformative leadership within the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), ensuring that the institution operates at the highest professional standards. His commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, officer welfare, and service delivery remains evident as he consistently introduces reforms that strengthen the force’s capacity.
As part of his welfare-driven agenda, IGP Sellu facilitated the delivery of essential medical drugs and consumables to the Bo Police Hospital Centre. This initiative underscores his dedication to improving healthcare services for police personnel, their families, and members of the surrounding community who rely on the facility for medical assistance.
The consignment included critical medications and supplies such as anti-malaria drugs, analgesics, antibiotics, syrups, ulcer medications, dressing materials, intravenous fluids, and other essential consumables. These provisions are expected to significantly boost healthcare delivery at the hospital, ensuring that police officers and beneficiaries receive quality medical attention.
A delegation from the SLP Medical Services Department, led by the Deputy Director and Medical Superintendent, Dr. John M. Konteh, traveled from Freetown to Bo to oversee the delivery. Dr. Konteh provided a comprehensive breakdown of the medical supplies, emphasising their role in addressing common health concerns among officers and the broader community.
In his remarks, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, the Regional Police Commander South, commended IGP Sellu for his proactive approach in prioritising police welfare. He noted that such interventions not only improve officers’ health but also enhance their morale and overall efficiency in executing their duties.
Receiving the medical supplies on behalf of the hospital, Sergeant 12043 Jacob Sundufu Mambu Musa, the officer in charge, assured that the drugs would be properly managed and utilised for their intended purpose, guaranteeing sustained healthcare support for officers and their dependents.
This latest intervention highlights IGP Sellu’s unwavering commitment to institutional development and officer well-being. His leadership continues to drive meaningful reforms that enhance policing standards and reinforce the SLP’s role as a professional and community-focused law enforcement body.
