The Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE), in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED), has announced five major civic townhall sessions as part of the 2025 Salone Civic Festival. The annual national event aims to promote civic engagement, showcase development achievements by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), celebrate Sierra Leone’s rich cultural heritage, and foster meaningful dialogue on the country’s development trajectory.
“This flagship event brings together citizens, government institutions, development partners, artists, and innovators to showcase our achievements and chart the way forward for our beloved nation,” said Minister Chernor Bah, Minister of Information and Civic Education.
The three-day townhall series will take place at the Miatta Conference Centre, featuring expert panelists and moderators tailored to each thematic discussion.
The schedule is as follows: Day 1 -Thursday, December 11, 2025: Feed Salone & Food Security. Government officials, partners, and youth representatives will review progress on the Feed Salone initiative and discuss strategies to strengthen food security in Sierra Leone. His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio will deliver the keynote address. Audience members will be able to ask questions and engage directly.
Day 2 – Friday, December 12, 2025: Two Townhalls.
Data Trends & Youth Empowerment Keynote speaker: Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh. Human Capital Development Focusing on strengthening the nation’s workforce, skills, and education systems.
Day 3- Saturday, December 13, 2025: Two Townhalls
Improved Governance: New Constitution, New Census, New Localities Featuring a keynote address by Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh.
Economy, Energy, and Productivity Exploring pathways to boost economic growth and sustainable energy solutions.
