On June 8th, 2024, amidst a backdrop of traditional attire and jubilation, Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie was formally inaugurated as the Paramount Chief of Kowa Chiefdom. The inauguration, held at the town field in Njama Kowa, drew dignitaries and well-wishers, underscoring the significance of the event within Moyamba district.

Chaired by P.C. Brima Sondufu Sovula of Kamajei Chiefdom, the ceremony proceeded smoothly under favorable weather, marked by dancing, fanfare, and a display of cultural pride. Paramount chiefs from neighboring chiefdoms, including P.C. John Jibao Russell Nyaama 2nd of Lower Banta Chiefdom, attended in solidarity, emphasizing the communal importance of the occasion.

Security was notably stringent, with district personnel ensuring strict adherence to protocol and cautioning against any challenges to the authority of PC Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie. Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Anthony Brewah, affirmed her leadership, asserting that her authority should not be questioned.

In a keynote address, Provincial Secretary Moses Gbetu reiterated the significance of unity behind the new paramount chief, emphasizing her role in representing both the chiefdom and the central government. He warned against any attempts to undermine her authority, urging peaceful cooperation for the advancement of Kowa Chiefdom.

In her response, PC Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie expressed gratitude to her supporters, family, and governmental authorities, calling for unity and cooperation to propel the chiefdom forward. The event concluded with a sense of optimism and unity, setting the stage for Amy Tattor Kallon Tibbie’s tenure as paramount chief of Kowa Chiefdom.
