FC Kallon Football Club has on 8th March 2023 defeated Central Parade Football club as they maintained the third spot in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League.
Central Parade hosted FC Kallon at Parade Ground in a midweek fixture, which most people describe as a must-win for both sides. The match started with great intensity with the Teams going all out to win maximum points. Fans cheered their players with songs and slogans.
The match came to life properly when winger James Fillie of FC Kallon scored the match-opener in the 36th minute of the first half. Excitement spread out among the away fans, and there were attacks and counter-attacks from both sides till the end of the first half. The second half started with hope for the away team, but a penalty that was converted by Sheku Kallon of Central Parade in the 47th minute brought the match to one apiece. Ali Nzonzi Conteh got a chance from a perfect delivery to head home the match-winning goal, to make it 2-1 in the 87th minute of normal time.
The informed striker has shown his clinical ability in matches, and past Wednesday’s encounter was another masterpiece from the young striker.
FC Kallon returns to 3rd place on the league table with 29 points, and 3 points clear of 4th place Diamond Stars, with a game in hand.
FC Kallon started the campaign poorly, but the team has returned to form now winning five matches both home and away matches in the ongoing league, and most of their players who miss some of their crunch matches have now been with the squad to help them fight for the title which is not too far from them.
The defeat of Central Parade Football Club has now left them in the 11th position trailing FC Kallon by (13) points, after playing more games than, Lamboi FC, Real Republican, Old Edwardian, and FC Johansen in the Sierra Leone Premier League.
