In a bid to secure resounding victory for President Bio in the June 24th 2023 multi-tier elections, the Commissioner General for the National Lands Service Commission Sheikh S. Sowa, together with other district stakeholders, has on Saturday the 10th of March 2023, championed operation no run-off for President Bio in Barri Potoru Chiefdom, Pujehun District.
The Commissioner General for the National Lands Service Commission Sheikh S. Sowa admonished his people that he never expected the position President Bio accorded him which he considered a blessing for Barri Potoru and Pujehun District as a whole. He said when he was Council Chairman for Pujehun District Council, he worked tremendously well for Barri Chiefdom and Pujehun District by extension. He reminded the gathering that he constructed 48 bole Holes for the district, facilitated eight solar power projects for the District, and constructed schools and health facilities in the district among others.
The Lands Commissioner General also assured the District party Chairman that he would personally ensure to weed out all the APC supporters and convert them to SLPP. He, therefore, encouraged other stakeholders in the district to come on board in negotiating with APC supporters to come back to their original roots. He categorically stated that APC is not good for themselves and the country. He added that over the last eleven years when the APC was in governance, they were grossly engaged in massive state graft. Sheilhk S. Sowa further educated the gathering that even the Presidential Aspirant for the APC has massive corruption allegations against them. He said Dr. Samura Kamara might not be eligible to contest for the June 24th election if found guilty of his pending corruption case. He reaffirmed that if Barri Potoru conducted elections twenty times, SLPP would emerge victorious in all of those elections. He concluded by appealing to all the APC supporters to consider their reunion with the SLPP for President Bio’s reflection.
The Chairman of the SLPP Party in Pujehun District who also doubles as the Ambassador to Liberia Ambassador Eddie Mansallay said the meeting intended to engage the APC supporters to come back home and be in the history-making for President Bio’s re-elections. He said the APC had been threatening SLPP supporter’s maltreatment if they take over governance. He said it was the more reason he appealed for Pujehun District to give president Bio 99.9% votes. He said for eleven years when the APC was in governance they did no sustainable development for the country other than Ebola. He assured that President Bio’s government is very inclusive in terms of tribal and regional lines. He also refuted the fallacious statement made by the APC Presidential Candidate Dr. Samura that the SLPP Party is regional and tribal biased. He also reminded us that Free Quality Education had enhanced massive school enrollments and had also saved monies for parents. The Ambassador to Liberia also encouraged the town chiefs to encourage all the APC supporters in their respective towns to join the re-election of President Bio. He said Barri Potoru would soon enjoy an uninterrupted electricity supply.
“If you vote for us to win this election, more development for the country. We have already done our assignment and we have won the elections without a runoff. Even the road from Bo and Jedema was initially awarded under the APC government but they embezzled the money without constructing the road”, he said.
He concluded by stating that President Bio had also taken equal development programmes to his opposition stronghold including the recently commissioned New Freetown International Airport. He encouraged all and sundry to vote massively for President Bio come June 24th 2023.
