At least two compounds in Ngaiya town Nimikoro Chiefdom Kono District have reportedly flooded after a heavy down pour of rain.

Explaining how it all happened, the town chief of Ngaiya Chief James T. Mafinda pointed out that the two compounds flooded after a three day heavy down pour of rain.

He said the flooding is as a result of the alleged blocking of the water way by two men identified as Messer Galay Jalloh and Sorie.

Chief Mafinda noted that prior to the reported flooding the two aforementioned men were reported to him for blocking the water way nearby the flooded compounds, nothing that effort by him to address the matter proved futile as none of them never showed up because they cannot stop their business for such matter.

Talking to this medium, the flood victims Kumba Saran and Sia Kamanda said during a palaver, the accused told them that the land on which he constructed his perimeter fence was sold to him by the speaker of Nimikoro Chiefdom Chief Abdulai Komasi and that he  has  right to use his property for his satisfaction.

The two flood victims have strongly accused Messer Galay Jalloh and Sorie for been responsible for the said flooding.

“We have been living here for the past decades without seeing this perimeter fence but since its construction water always over flows after any heavy down pour of rain and now it has flooded our compounds thereby destroying our property worth Millions of Leones”, the two flood victims cried.

meanwhile, the Bafinfeh section chief in Ngaiya town Nimikoro Chiefdom Kono District chief Mohamed Korgba has assured all and sundry of amicably addressing the said palaver that led to the flooding of at least two dwelling compounds in Ngaiya town.
