Grafton Mammy Queen, Mrs Musu Lahai on the 18th July 2022 testified against one Susan Komba in an alleged murder case.
The accused made her 21 appearances before the principal Magistrate Kekura of Padempa Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count of Manslaughter Contrary to Law.
Police alleged that the accused Susan Komba on Wednesday 1st December 2021, at Block N-10 Grafton police Barracks Freetown unlawfully killed Dennis Komba.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Christiana Davies Cole Esq led the third prosecution witness PW3 Mrs Musu Lahai Mammy Queen of Grafton said she knew both the accused and the deceased.
PW 3 said Dennis Komba ( now deceased) came to her house on the said date at around 7 pm and called her attention that the accused have attacked him again she asked him what he did to the accused person, and he replied to her that he did nothing wrong and the accused have seized everything from him.
She further stated that she went to the accused person and asked why she was behaving in such a manner; the accused replied that PW 3 do not know how to settle the dispute.
She said the accused person’s son Aiah told the accused that if she slaps the deceased again he will also slap her.
Mammy Queen continues that the accused slapped the deceased and said I have slapped him; Aiah was about to slap the accused but the deceased stopped him and advised him to avoid trouble.
She said after that she left the scene and went home the police later obtained a statement from her.
PW 3 said she was in the provinces when she heard about the death of the accused person’s husband.
Cross Examination was conducted by defense Counsel S. Will Esq.
Within the cross examination, Magistrate Kekura granted the application because the application made by the defense counsel is for the witness statement to be shown to her and not to be tender and form part of the court records.
In the end, the matter was adjourned to the 1st August 2022; bail continues for the accused person.
