In 21 days… EBK to be ducked

 The three appeal court judges, Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens, Justice Ivan Ansumana Sesay and Justice Adrian Fisher presiding over the commissions of inquiry appeal cases has admonished Lawyer Fitzgerald Joseph Kamara to file all synopses on behalf of the appellant Ernest Bai Koroma to the court and respondent within twenty one days.

Counsels for the appellant (Ernest Bai Koroma) Fitzgerald Joseph Kamara, Ady Macualey and Africanus Sesay are before the appeal court to appeal against the decision reached and made by the sitting Judge of the then Commissions of inquiry against their client.

Shortly after the matter was mentioned by the court clerk on the 4th May 2021 the lead appellant Counsel, Fitzgerald Joseph Kamara told the bench that his client is absent. He said his client was unable to travel from up country because they were not informed that the matter is coming up on the said date.

Lawyer Kamara requested for three weeks adjournment in Order for them to prepare and file their appeal proper.

Counsels for the state, J.I Freeman and P. Williams also seek for the same on the grounds that they have voluminous files to cover.

In the interim, Justice Ivan Ansumana Sesay admonished the appellant counsels to serve their appeal synopses to the court and respondent (the state) within twenty one days on or before 4pm on the 25th may 2021. He adjourned the Matter to the 23rd of June 2021 for the preliminaries to commence.

Justice Sesay further advice counsels for the appellant to make sure they attached to the file all documents being common law or statutory.

Counsels representing other appellants including Karifa Kargbo, Fitgerald Joseph Kamara and others adopted the same procedure that was reached at on the case of Ernest Bai Koroma.
