The Immigration officer at the Kudu crossing point in Bokoly section Kissi Tongi Chiefdom in Kailahun District says they are faced with so many challenges whilst execute their activities in that part of the country. The immigration supporting staff Tamba Heimoh pointed out that the following are challenges they are as immigration officers are faced with at the Kudu crossing point in Kailahun District: poor road network, lack of toilet and dwelling facilities to name but a few. Tamba Heimoh on behalf of his colleague immigration officers attached to the Kudu crossing point in Kailahun District expressed dissatisfaction over the aforementioned challenges noting if not addressed the immigration work in that part of the country will not be on a sound footing.

He however thanked a non-governmental organization operating in Kailahun District SEND Sierra Leone with support from wealth hunger Hilflife (WHH) for the construction of at least two small boots for the accommodation of immigration staff at the border crossing point to Foya in the Liberia axis.

Mr. Heimoh further pleaded with the central government to improve on the check point buildings and staff by recruiting more immigration staff as the few staff on the ground is not enough to run the day to day activities of the institution.

In a tearful mood he told A-Z how he has volunteered as a supporting immigration officer for over a decade without the central government recognising him as a full staff a situation he described as very unfortunate. Talking about his working experience the supporting immigration officer maintained that over the years he has acquired a wealth of experience as their primary responsibility is to protect the interest of Sierra Leone through the proper screening of passengers and goods that do enter and exit the country.
