The way and manner a man reacts to desperate situations validates his appropriateness for the charge. We saw him walk in panache; bellowing threat to terror mongers; and in same breathe reassuring the populace that so long as he is in charge, they should have no fear.
IG Dr. Ambrose Sovula ix up and ready for the predicted political troubled water; you have tp mark my words The way he is conducting himself in a no nonsense posturing as an assurance that peace loving Sierra Leoneans can go to bed without any wariness that agent provocateurs are going to have their way in unleashing mayhem to nefariously achieve a political ambition.
Certainly the riotous conduct of opposition All Peoples Congress partisan has provided us an acid test to assess the preparedness of the police in dealing such dastardly conduct of opposition partisans poised to vent out their revulsion of lost power that is not reachable in the near future. For the APC this is a harsh reality to accept and ready to even self-annihilate in reaction.
The policing logic of IG Sovula that no groups of Sierra Leoneans are going to hold other Sierra Leoneans hostage for whatever reason is plausible. He has even distinguished himself to be a man of stern character when he sends out the warning to those of his officer who would want to renege of the constitutional duty of not protecting life and property. He warns that there would nolonger be any place for such Police officers. This is a reassurance for public security as many are busy devising doomsday game plans for the 2023 elections. The IG is not sounding like a megalomaniac- drunken with power trappings. His point is driving home a patriotic sense of duty, arguing that because of the incentive of government in for instance providing one bag of rice of high quality to each officer, they should do justice to their work in clamping down on enemies of peace.
The APC must see yesterday event of taking security for granted as a sad mistake grave implications to those whose bravado is powered by the ethnocentric rather than the sane impulse of not disturbing the peace for politicians who do not even know how you are living in misery as a bi-product of their blunders Even if Dr. Samura Kamara is now cooking and dishing out rice to partisans that is no justification to become rebellious in his defense when the state requires him to answer to criminal questions. IG Sovula did s good job yesterday to disperse the mob and allow the Anti-Corruption Commission to take the statement on chancery scam in America which incidentally connects Dr. Samura Kamara and other SLPP stalwarts. The investigation must be allowed to proceed without howling and yelling of partisans who never ate crumbs from the supposed loot.
