In the bid of fostering President Bio’s mainstay agenda which is the Free Quality Education, Ibrahim Brima Swarray Foundation has officially opened its 3rd Edition of the Free Summer School on Monday in Kenema and Blama within in the Small Bo Chiefdom.
When making the keynote address, Ibrahim Brima Swarray, newly appointed Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) and President-cum-Founder of the Ibrahim Brima Swarray Foundation said in line with the instruction giving to him by President Bio in order to organize a free summer school for pupils in Kenema and Blama, has successfully been actualized for the third time.
He furthered that education must be the primary focus for school going pupils across the country, and President Bio remains steadfast in making education a work-in-progress.
NRA Commissioner General urged the pupils to take their academic work with utmost seriousness as it is the only key to success.
“Any child that comes first or second from class one to class six during the free summer school examination will have free learning materials which comprise of books, pens, pencils, uniforms, bags and shoes from the foundation in the coming academic year and same goes for JSS one to SSS three,” Mr. Swarray emphasized.
He mentioned that it is education that makes him to be appointed as the Chief Executive of the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) at first and now the Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) which serves as the breadbasket of the country’s economy.
NRA Boss said he would like to see more bright and educated minds within the thousands of school going pupils who were gathered in from of him in both Kenema and Blama town.
Mr. Swarray said President Bio is craving to see more young and educated Sierra Leoneans; adding that the Free Quality Education remains President Bio’s long existing legacy even when he will depart from the political and presidential arena.
“Sierra Leoneans will forever stand to remember President Bio for his fervent show of Free Quality Education in his two terms,” NRA Boss added.
He admonished the pupils to see the summer school as the breeding ground for the next academic year. Mr. Swarray revealed that all the teachers that would be teaching in the summer school are going to be fully paid for their skills.
He continued that the foundation wants to see the best from the pupils and the country in general.
Mr. Swarray encouraged the pupils to study hard and make Kenema proud in every shade of education and human capacity development.
Mannah Massaquio, Country Director of the Ibrahim Brima Swarray Foundation thanked the president and founder of the foundation for his continued supports and mentorship. He affirmed that there are four centres that would be hosting the free summer school ranging from class one class six and from JSS one to SSS three. “There is a centre in Government Secondary School Kenema, Methodist Primary School, Saint Charles Lwanga Primary School in Kenema and RC Primary School in Blama town,” Country Director added.
