A popular female youth in Constituency 086 in Kakua Chiefdom in Bo City, Susan Sarah Koiwa has expressed his intention to contest to become a member of Parliament in order to lobby to improve on the development in constituency 086.

Speaking to A-Z Newspaper, Madam Koiwa said that “I am a young lady born at Coronation field area in Bo, who was schooled and went to University and graduated as a professional Banker but now I am doing my private business’’.

She said that she wants to see much development in Bo that is why she is contesting to provide quality representation for people in constituency 086 and the Bo district as whole.

Madam Koiwa said that she cannot really say things have not been happening but she wants to improve on a lot of things in the constituency and Bo city and noted that she believes this is the time for that to happen.

“We the youths are no longing saying that we are future leaders but leaders of today as we want to bring more development in our communities, and I have all what it takes to represent the people in constituency 087,’’ she said.

Madam Koiwa went on to say that MPs are charged with the responsibility among other things to make laws and provide oversight functions but we can lobby for the development of the constituency.

She said that “we are happy over the President Bio’s Human Capital Development and education is key in the actualization of it and we will be complimenting the effort of President Bio to ensure that he succeeds to achieve it’’.

Madam Koiwa noted that “we will see how we can encourage the young ones siting to NPSE, BECE and WASSCE exams to do well and we can advocate for them to get scholarship,’’ adding that ‘’ we can also engage the Non-Governmental Organizations(NGO’s) to provide support to the children.’’

According to her, she is a champion for advocacy on women’s empowerment and supports the action of improvement of women representation in governance and elective positions in the 2023 elections.

“I am passionate about supporting the women and girls to be empowered with skills from vocational institutions and also increase their business acumen, especially for women who are traders as the women are key in nation building, ’she pointed out.

Madam Koiwa said that she does not have physical cash to give to all the women but she will create the platform for them to benefit from the support of NGO’s that are empowering the women and girls and will continue to advocate for them and to help with individual support to  women.

She disclosed that she has both local and international consultants who can work with the women and youths to develop a business plan that will help them get support for entrepreneurship or the consultants can help those who want to acquire the relevant skills to enable them to be absorbed in the labour market or become self-reliant out of their skills acquired.

Madam Koiwa said that “I have good plans for constituency 086 and I will not still say much has not been happening but also coming to help the people in the constituency and Bo in diverse ways, and the people of constituency 086 in fact called on me to come and improve on the development of the constituency, which I accepted and will measure up to their expectations’’.

“Registration of people for the 2023 election is key and for me to represent the people of constituency 086 in parliament and President Bio to go back for the second term, all of us have to go and register if  you fulfil the registration criteria, which among them is, you  should be above eighteen years’’, she explains.

Madam Koiwa said that before the registration could start, she has been engaging the people in the constituency 086 and Bo as a whole to ensure that they turn out in large numbers to register and the people are really appreciating what she did before the voter registration could start.

“I donated megaphones and bikes to enhance the registration process and I have been highly praised in the constituency by people and some I do not in fact know but I have always told them that I am coming to work with every in constituency to bring much improvement in the constituency,” she maintained.

Speaking to A-Z Newspaper in Bo, the youths in constituency 086 said that they want a youth this time round to represent them in parliament and Suzie as she is popularly called in Bo, is their candidate for the 2023 elections and are calling on the SLPP executive at constituency, district, regional and national to please consider their choice, who is Susan Sarah Koiwa, to bring much development in constituency 086.

Taylor Koroma said that “I am part of the All Peoples Congress Party (APC) but because of Suzie who is the choice of the people, I am going to cast my vote for her and President Bio to go for a second term, so the executive of the SLPP should consider Suzie and for the grassroots, she has won our heart as a youth to provide quality representation in Parliament’’.

Josephine Kargbo, another youth in constituency 086 said that “I hope SLPP executive will give favourable consideration to their choice and this is the best choice, Susan Sarah Koiwa for constituency 086’’.

She said that if an APC member is coming over to vote for President Bio and Suzie as MP, is a clear testimony that Susan Sarah Koiwa  is a mixer and can bring more APC over to the SLPP party so that there will not be any second round in 2023 elections.

Madam Kargbo noted that Suzie is indeed a strong supporter of the SLPP party and has been contributing immensely to the development of the SLPP party and for President Bio to succeed in running the affairs of the country.

She said the provision of a megaphone for the voter registration sensitization and the provision of motorbikes to enhance the registration process is key for more people to register in the constituency and Bo District as a whole.

Madam Kargbo said that Suzie has not become MP and has been supportive to the development of the constituency and noted if she is given the opportunity to represent us in Parliament, she can deliver more for the development of Constituency 086 to the admiration of the people in constituency.
