Counting the task of injecting new spirit into the mental and physical arrangements of Leone Stars, Head Coach Amidu Karim says he needs more time to transform the national side.
On the conditions he met, Coach Karim announces that he inherited a squad that was not doing so badly but that he is grim to implement his new system of attacking. “This involves a lot of energy. Note that with this method of playing, you have to be cautious of your backyard,” he adds.
Experienced Coach Karim will be calling up to 25 players, a combined figure that represents legs from both home and abroad.
On making gains, the Leone Stars Coach says he has been able to introduce his own system of play which is retaining possession, creating numerical advantage, pressing when they lose the ball, and be clinical in front of goal.
“I introduced all of these in our last camping in Morocco where we were able to get a 1-1 draw with Benin and a 2-0 win over Somalia,” he remarks.
The victory-charged Coach will open his World Cup Qualifier campaign against Ethiopia on November 15 in Morocco before playing host to Egypt in Monrovia on November 19.
