Police Personnel deployed at the fallah checkpoint in Bo has on Friday 30th July 2021, intercepted a vehicle ( Toyota Land cruiser ) with registration number ANI 533 in control of one Ibrahim Abubakar Kargbo of Bo City for drug searching.
During the course of searching, the police discovered huge quantities of cannabis sativa on board the said vehicle and one Mohamed Sesay of #11 Sesay Street in Kenema was arrested in connection with the consignment.
The two suspects, exhibits and vehicle were referred to the Regional Criminal Investigations department (CID) and handed over to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) south for further investigation.
It could recalled that since the Regional Police Commander South AIG Aiah Edward Samadia promised the people of Bo and the entire region to maintain the momentum of quietness and satisfactory security coverage from where his predecessor AIG William Fayia Sellu left, he had embarked on 21st Century Policing strategies in order to fight crime and forestall the occurrences of heinous crime in the Region.
With this vision, he had intensified security patrols within the township of Bo and all the security checkpoints in a bid to ensure watertight security coverage for the people of the southern region.
According to the TOCU investigators, the said consignment is the highest ever (213kgs) arrested since 2016 to date and they have called on the forensic expert for further examination of the said exhibits.
