In an earnest demonstration of dedication towards bolstering President Bio’s Free Quality Education initiative initiated in 2018, Honorable Yusuf Mackery announced a substantial pledge on Saturday, November 18, 2023. He committed 50 bags of cement to aid the ongoing construction of a 5-classroom building at the premises of Royal International Academy situated in the New Englandville community, Bo district.
During his keynote address at the school’s 6th-anniversary celebration, Honorable Yusuf Mackery articulated his unwavering support for educational advancement. He highlighted five pivotal issues crucial for expediting effective and efficient learning outcomes across all educational institutions in Sierra Leone.
Expressing immense gratitude to President Bio for his visionary leadership in introducing the Free Quality Education program, Honorable Yusuf lauded its remarkable impact on the educational landscape. He noted a significant surge in school and university enrollments, crediting the program for its positive influence on the nation’s educational system.
Assuring a continuous commitment to fortify and furnish essential support for education in Bo and nationwide, Honorable Yusuf emphasized the paramount role education plays in the country’s holistic development. He encapsulated this sentiment with a poignant adage: “If you desire to perpetuate poverty in a nation, stifle education; to swiftly eradicate poverty, prioritize education.” This resonated as a clarion call for collective action towards a brighter educational future in Sierra Leone.
