The former Member of Parliament for Constituency 067 (now Constituency 086), in Bo District, Hon. Sualiho Monyama Koroma has met with  Pressmen at a cocktail in Bo to inform them of his desire to be the next mayor of Bo City Council.

The Press Cocktail was organized by the Strategic Communications Unit for the former MP on Saturday 18 March 2022.

Hon. Koroma is in constant consultations with stakeholders about his ambition to contest for Bo Mayor ship under the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

Journalists and a cross section of members of the SLPP, friends of Team Suahilo Monyama Koroma attended the Cocktail.

Hon. Suahilo Monyama Koroma revealed the cocktail was organized to interact with the media and to make them au fait with what he did as former MP as well as informing them about his future plans when he becomes the next mayor of Bo City Council.

Hon. Koroma catalogued the developments that he had undertaken in Bo City and vowed to continue with more development projects.

The mayoral-hopeful said that if giving the opportunity to be the mayor of Bo City Council he wants to change the looks of Bo like other cities around the globe.

Hon. Sualiho Monyama Koroma also said if becomes mayor, he plans to extend the colonial boundaries of Bo City to accommodate the current growth development trajectory, improve revenue generation through the use of data and technology, maintain healthy relationship with the central government, local stakeholders and development partners.

He added he will partner with them in an accountable and transparent manner. He noted Bo City needs someone who is development-oriented.

He further said he was confident about his track records which are not hidden.

In his short statement, the Bo District Chairman for SLPP, Mohamed E K Ali described the press curtail as a memorable one.

Mr. Ali added the party will come out with rules and regulations before the elections.

He said Hon. Koroma is not new in the SLPP and when the time comes the people will decide.

The Bo District SLPP Chairman said Hon. Sualiho Monyama Koroma did very well when he was giving the opportunity as Member of Parliament.

 Sierra Leone Association of Journalists Secretary General for Southern Region, Ali Badara said journalists are not politicians but they have the responsibility to report about what people do to develop Sierra Leone.

He informed they have attended presidential the press cocktail since President Julius Maada Bio was elected president of the republic of Sierra Leone.

He further said as journalists they report what they see and they will continue to be professional.

According to information from the Strategic Communications team for Hon. Koroma, Sualiho Koroma is to formerly declare his intention to contest for Mayor very soon.
